What an amazing day and an amazing couple. Erin and Will got married yesterday with New York City gleaming in the background under the golden afternoon sun. Liberty State Park is a photographer’s playground to begin with.. so to have such a wonderful couple to photograph is really a lot of fun. Having just shot Erin’s sister’s wedding as well as her co-worker’s wedding, Matt and I felt right at home. Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your day!

Kathy & Mark : New Nikon 85mm 1.4G Wedding : Renaissance Westchester Hotel

Kathy and Mark dodged Hurricane Earl for their wedding at the Renaissance in Westchester! For those who are interested, I used the brand spanking new Nikon 85 1.4G AF-S for the entire wedding. Not only is it new to me, it’s new to everybody. It was put to work just hours after being dropped off by UPS! Cliff Mautner has already written about this lens and I agree on all levels. The output is beautiful and it’s a bit harder (and slower) to achieve perfect focus than the Nikon zooms.

With that said, I’ll let the pictures do the talking!…

Gabrielle & Howard : Wedding : The Chart House, Weehawken, NJ

Gabrielle and Howard celebrated at The Chart House in Weehawken with their kids, friends, and family. They were wed in the shadow of the Empire State Building which Howard’s grandfather helped build. His father who stands beside him under the chuppah owned and operated a bar in Times Square for 35 years before big business took over. It’s fun running into these behind the scenes pieces of New York history.

This was a purely photojournalistic day with absolutely zero posing — a refreshing series of images focused solely on real moments. I hope you enjoy…

Victoria & Nathan : Wedding : The Foundry, Long Island City, NY

Long Island City is home to some of New York’s newest (and coolest) venues for throwing a wedding. Victoria and Nathan were married under the shadow of the Queensboro Bridge at The Foundry in a beautiful ceremony. Nathan and his buddies are stand up comics and they had the whole place roaring with laughter.. including myself.

Wedding Photojournalists Association

I just found out that I was accepted as a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association!

Membership is contingent on continued evidence of documenting weddings in a candid, unobtrusive style. Members are held to strict guidelines regarding image quality and content, technical and creative technique, website and marketing professionalism, business ethics and communication.

Needless to say, I’m happy to be a part.
